A short post today.Ā The cold temps made me dig into my archives to see what I could find to celebrate the day.
In this photo from a couple of years ago, the Cactus Wren seems to be contemplating if to walk from the snow into the dark shadow.
Stay warm everyone. š
great capture
Wow, Bob. š
Thanks, Nandini. š
Fantastic pic! š
Thanks, Jo. Sometimes I like to do something different.
Beautiful winter scene. Love the feisty little wrens. š
Thank you very much, Alison. We don’t winter scenes very often here. I think that one lasted maybe four hours. š
Love your by-line..it is cold here today too..only got up to about 40 under cloudy skies..but I was so blessed..I had just walked into my studio and caught a dark wing of a bird..and what should my wandering eyes see sitting on our lawn..a fledgling Peregrine Falcon..he was after the sparrows in a shrub next to the house. Naturally what is a camera??? haha..so was a fun day inside..
I’m jealous. A Peregrine Falcone, on your lawn? Wow! How exciting! Thanks for your comment, Syl. Stay warm. š
Nice shot, I think we all stand in amazement when we see birds like Golden-crowned Kinglets seemingly thriving in winter weather that sends us running indoors.
Thanks very much, Bob. I agree with you completely. š
Maybe it was just the sunny side of the street.
Could be, Dave. š
Nice composition Bob.

“The most important things in life ……aren’t things.”
Thanks, John. I have flashes of greatness. š I hope all is well with you. I’m busy as a bear. They are feting me at The Art Gallery in Fort Davis with a reception, recognizing me as their featured artist during Fort Davis’ Frontier Christmas. That is on December 13. Come on out. š
Stay warm Bob, put another log in the fire! Nice photo! š
Thanks, H.J. No snow here, but the temps are lower than we are used to. But warmer days are coming. Cold days don’t last long here. š
